MAMS Raiwala organised the Inter-School Mathematics Hackathon for students of grades 6 to 8 of different schools of Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun on Friday, 24th February 2023. Eight schools participated in the event wherein there were 3 participants from each school.
The Chief Guest of the event was a renowned educator and entrepreneur Mr. Rajiv Bhalla from Haridwar who has been a trustee of MAMS Trust for many years and his contributions over the years have been noteworthy. Mr. Rajiv Bhalla addressed and encouraged the participants with his inspiring words to begin the event.
The hackathon started with a a preliminary round from which top 4 scorer teams were selected who competed in the final quiz round. These finalist teams were Doon International school, Delhi Public school (Daulatpur), Doon Cambridge School and Army Public school (Raiwala). The quiz was conducted by students of Class XI, Tiya Goyal and Hanshika who introduced the schools and explained the rules.
The quiz comprised of General Round, Buzzer round and Rapid Fire round. Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm showcasing their potential. The top two teams who emerged as the winners from these rounds were Doon International School and Delhi Public School. They competed against each other for the trophy in the next round which was a Visual round.
The first prize was bagged by Doon International School and Delhi Public school bagged the second position. The winners were presented with a winner trophy, certificates and medals by Mr. Rajiv Bhalla, Mrs. Bhalla, Mr. Panjwani( Director) and Mrs. Nikita Panjwani.
The event was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by our Director Mr. Arpit Panjwani who applauded the efforts put in by all the participants and teachers for this exciting event.
The event helped the students in identifying their capabilities and motivated them to learn and expand their knowledge in Mathematics. The quiz enhanced the inquisitiveness of the students thereby building their confidence, mental prowess, and learning at the same time.
