On the 2nd day of their visit, Students of Rajmata Krishna kumari girls public school, Jodhpur had an amazing day spent indulging in various activities. The day started off with a visit to Drinkung Kagyu Institute, a non-profit organization that strives to preserve, promote and develop Himalayan and Tibetan Buddhist culture, philosophy, literature, art, history and medicine. The students were received by the Director of the institute himself, who later guided the tour. The students got a close purview of the monasteries, nunneries, libraries, and retreat centers.
Visit to Songsten Library provided the students with an understanding of the academic opportunities available and the importance of literary and research books to preserve the Himalayan Tibetan culture. After the visit, the students headed off to Sahastradhara, which literally means ‘Thousand fold springs’, a popular tourist spot in Dehradun. The final destination was a visit to the Robberscave, popularly known as Gucchupaani among the locals.
A student of the visiting group Naisha Jain said, ” Today’s visit surpassed all of our expectations, as we not only enjoyed the famous tourist spots but also had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get an in-detailed understanding of a different culture than ours. The whole schedule was meticulously designed to get us the best experience.”
