“Speak to Lead” Inter school Debate Competition organised at Maa Anandamayi Memorial School, Raiwala, Dehradun

An inter-school debate competition was organised at Maa Anandamayi Memorial School Raiwala, Dehradun, in which six schools from Dehradun and surrounding areas participated.
The topics of the debate competition were:
All students should be required to volunteer in the community.
Corporal punishment should be allowed in schools.
The Internet should be banned in schools.
All parents should be required to attend parenting classes.
All students should be required to learn a foreign language in middle school.
Participating teams were given the opportunity to choose their topics themselves. The participants put forth their views in favour and against their chosen topic. Each school was #interjected by the chosen school (through a draw of lots) as well. The judges evaluated the participants based on their content, delivery, and rebuttal skills, ensuring that the competition was fair and transparent.
Dr. Poonam Sharma was invited as the chief guest on this occasion. Mrs. Sutapa Bose and Mr. Nikhil adorned the posts of judges in this competition.
Delhi Public School, Kalagaon, Dehradun, secured prizes for “the best debater for the motion’, “the best debater against the motion’, “the best interjector,” and‘ “the best debate team’.
The chief guest shed light on the given topics and appreciated all the participating contestants. The judges also encouraged the participants with their inspirational thoughts. The hosting was successfully conducted by Class X students of MAMS, Raiwala, Shikha and Satyam.
In the end, the academic coordinator of the school, Mr. Ruchesh Sharma, also expressed his gratitude to the visitors and the chief guest and appreciated the cooperation of all the participants, teachers, and students.
