The Opening Ceremony of the XIX CBSE Clusters Table Tennis Tournament, hosted this year, by MAMS Raiwala was a grand event, well punctuated with a beautiful cultural programme which had everyone enthralled. Fifty-five CBSE schools from North Zone-I will be participating in the various events comprising Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 (Boys and Girls) Singles and Doubles categories, over the next four days.
The event was formerly inaugurated by the Lighting of the ceremonial Lamp by all the Dignitaries followed soon after by the welcome of our Chief Guest, Mr. Premchand Aggarwal, Minister of Finance, Urban Development, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs, Re-organisation and Census and MLA Rishikesh as well as Guest of Honour Ms. Neerja Goyal, International Para-Badminton Player and Social Activist. School Chairman Mr. Mahesh Panjwani, Director and Organising Secretary Mr. Arpit Panjwani, Trustees Ms. Divya Panjwani and Ms. Nikita Taneja, Mr. Prince Vipon Technical Director of Uttarakhand TT Association, Dehradun, Lieutenant Prabhat Nautiyal Alumni of MAMS, CBSE Observer Mr. Vineet Tyagi, Mr. D. P. Raturi, Mr. Bhandari, Mr. Shiv Sehgal and Mrs. Neeraj Singh were also warmly welcomed with bouquets and mementos.
In accordance with the time honoured tradition at MAMS, no event can be initiated without first invoking the blessings of The Almighty. Therefore, a sensational song dedicated to Lord Ganesha- Ganesh Vandana Stuti was presented by the students which received tumultuous applause from the mesmerised audience. After the speech by Head Boy Akram Patel and Head Girl Anjali Kapurwan, a fiery and dynamic Garhwali dance further boosted up the spirits.
The Director of MAMS and Organising Secretary Mr. Arpit Panjwani delivered the Welcome Address emphasising the significance of Sports as part of the CBSE curriculum. He said that the mantra to success is focus, determination, perseverance, honesty with a dash of that elusive factor called Luck, often the game changer in any competition.
The Chief Guest then hoisted the CBSE Flag to declare the CBSE Clusters XIX Table Tennis Tournament officially Open, lit a ‘Mashal’, and graciously accepted the March Past honours as the students marched in a spectacular and well synchronised order. All the contingents also solemnly took the Oath, promising to abide by all the rules to ensure fair play throughout the tournament. The atmosphere was charged up a notch higher with a Yog #performance that showcased the exceptional talent of MAMS students, performing one remarkable feat after another.
Principal Mr. Sharad Agarwal also welcomed all participant team members at MAMS premises and concluded by wishing all the teams the Best of Luck for the upcoming games and hoping that though the various participants have stepped in as competitors, they would leave as friends.
We are looking forward to four exhilarating days of nail-biting matches being played amongst the most competitive Table Tennis teams of North Zone. We wish that all players embody the spirit of #sports and fairness, and may the most deserving team wins.
