Mental health and well-being are essential components of a healthy and fulfilling life. Just as physical health is important for a person’s overall development, emotional and psychological well-being plays a significant role in shaping confidence, relationships, academic performance, and the ability to cope with challenges.
Keeping these needs in mind, Maa Anandmayee Memorial School, Raiwala, in association with the Rotary Club, Haridwar, organised a workshop on Mental Health and Well-being on 7 September 2026. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of mental health and equip them with simple and meaningful ways to maintain emotional well-being and lead a balanced life.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome of the distinguished guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. This was followed by a melodious welcome song, which added a warm and pleasant beginning to the programme.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Richa Saxena, an experienced psychologist, psychotherapist, and academic professional based in Haridwar. The other guests present on the occasion included Mrs. Sheelu Bhatia, Chairman of Rotary Club, Haridwar, Mr. Charanjit Singh, and a team of interns.
The central attraction of the programme was the Mental Health and Well-being Workshop. The session focused on the importance of maintaining good mental health alongside physical health. Students were encouraged to recognise and express their emotions, communicate their concerns, manage stress effectively, and seek help whenever required. The workshop also emphasised the importance of self-confidence, positive thinking, healthy relationships, emotional resilience, and creating a supportive environment for oneself and others.

To further encourage students to reflect on the theme and express their thoughts creatively, painting, poster-making, and essay-writing competitions were also organised. Students from Classes 6–8 and Classes 9–12 enthusiastically participated and shared their ideas and perspectives. These activities provided them with a creative platform to express their understanding of mental health while promoting confidence, communication skills, creativity, and independent thinking.
The programme successfully highlighted the significance of mental health awareness, emotional well-being, creativity, and confidence among young learners. The initiative by Maa Anandmayee Memorial School in association with the Rotary Club, Haridwar, served as a meaningful effort to address the emotional and psychological well-being of students and to remind them that seeking help, expressing emotions, and supporting one another are signs of strength rather than weakness. The workshop left the students with valuable insights and encouraged them to learn, inspire, support, and grow together. It reinforced the message that mental health is an integral part of overall well-being and deserves the same care and attention as physical health.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Principal, Mr. Alok Virmani. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club, the distinguished guests, the resource persons, the team of interns, teachers, and students for their valuable contribution to the successful organization of the workshop.
