Promotion criteria

At MAMS we follow the promotion criteria as provided by the CBSE guidelines. At the end of the final term the students are granted promotion to the next higher grade on the basis of the following criteria:

junior school

• A child will be given promotion to the next higher class only if he/she has taken all the assessments conducted by the school
• The child must secure a minimum average of 33% (D Grade) in all subjects
• In case a child is unable to attain the minimum required grade/percentage of marks, he/she will be given another opportunity to improve upon his/her performance
• If the school feels that it is in best interest of a child to repeat a class due to non-performance, it may do so with due consent of the parents

senior school

Grade IV to VII

• A child will be given promotion to the next higher class only if he/she has taken all the assessments conducted by the school.
• The child must secure a minimum average of 33% (D Grade) in all subjects.
• In case a child is unable to attain the minimum required grade/percentage of marks, he/she will be given another opportunity to improve upon his/her performance.
• If the school feels that it is in best interest of a child to repeat a class due to non-performance, it may do so with due consent of the parents.

Grade IX to XI

  • Promotions of classes 9 and 11 would be based on the term 1 and annual tests term 2
  • Marks of internal assessment would be added. Also, marks of various practicals and projects would be taken into consideration.
  • The passing criteria for students will be 33% (33 out of 100) in each of the five subjects the students are studying.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required in the Progress Card of Std VIII to qualify for promotion or admission to Std IX.
